Passive - Determination

Innate: Xin Zhao's basic attacks on-hit and Wind Becomes Lightning first slash hit and thrust on at least one enemy hit each generate a stack of Determination, stacking up to 3 times. The third stack consumes them all to deal 15% / 30% / 45% / 60% AD bonus physical damage and heal Xin Zhao for 3% / 4% / 5% of his maximum health (+ 65% AP).

Innate - Challenge: Wind Becomes Lightning and, if Crescent Guard has been learned, Xin Zhao's basic attacks and Audacious Charge, apply a Challenged mark to certain enemies hit for 3 seconds. Only one enemy can be marked as Challenged at a time; applying the mark to a new target removes it from the previous one. Audacious Charge and Crescent Guard have interactions against Challenged targets.

Active: Xin Zhao unleashes 4 slashes in an arc over the first 0.15 seconds of the cast time, each dealing physical damage to enemies within. After the remaining cast time, he then thrusts his spear in a line in the target direction, dealing physical damage to enemies hit, increased by % , and slow them by 50% for 1.5 seconds. Wind Becomes Lightning deals 50% - 100% (based on level) damage to minions. The farthest champion or large monster hit within the thrust's area is also marked as Challenged and is standard sight for 3 seconds.

Xin Zhao just can't catch a break. First he dies to Atakhan, now he's underpowered in solo queue? When will these tragedies cease? Today. They cease today. Xin Zhao buff time! Much like Vi's changes in this patch, we want to play up Xin Zhao's ability to stick up for himself and scrap with enemy champions in long-term fights.

Wind Becomes Lightning - New W

  • Active: Xin Zhao performs two swift strikes over a 0.6/0.5/0.4 (based on bonus attack speed) second period, the first dealing physical damage to all enemies in an arc and the second dealing a greater amount of damage and slow all enemies in a line for 50% for 1.5 seconds. Wind Becomes Lighting benefits from 33.3% of Xin Zhao's lifesteal and each strike will stack and can apply Determination.
  • Slash deals 30/40/50/60/70 (+ 30% AD) damage.
  • Thrust deals 30/65/100/135/170 (+ 85% AD) damage.
  • The duration on his other abilities is paused during the effect.
  • Deals only 50% damage against minions.

  • Cast range increased to 650 from 600.
  • Effect radius increased to 125 from 112.5.
  • Base damage reduced to 50/75/100/125/150 from 70/110/150/190/230.

  • New Effect: Grants 40/45/50/55/60% bonus attack speed for 5 seconds after reaching his target. This is repurposed from Battle Cry Active, value unchanged.

Crescent Guard - R

  • Renamed to Crescent Guard from Crescent Sweep.
  • Base damage increased to 75/175/275 from 75/150/225.
  • Effect radius increased to 250 from 187.5.
  • New Passive - Challenge: The last enemy champion that Xin Zhao attacked or targeted with Audacious Charge is Challenged for 3 seconds.
  • Removed: 15/20/25 bonus resistances per champion hit.
  • New Effect: For the next 3 seconds, Xin Zhao gains Awareness, taking 100% reduced damage from enemies who are more than 450 units away from him. Basic attacks and abilities versus champions will extend the duration by 0.3 seconds, but the remaining duration cannot exceed 3 seconds.
