Passive - Determination

Innate: Xin Zhao's basic attacks on-hit generate a stack of Determination, stacking up to 3 times. The third stack consumes them all to deal 22% - 50% (based on level) AD bonus physical damage on-attack and heal Xin Zhao for 7 - 60 (based on level) (+ 10% AD) (+ 40% AP) on-hit.

Active: Xin Zhao empowers his next three basic attacks on-attack within 5 seconds to each have an uncancellable windup, deal bonus physical damage and reduce his other abilities' current cooldowns by 1 second. Each attack refreshes the duration.

Active: Xin Zhao slashes in an arc and, after the cast time, thrusts his spear in a line in the target direction. Each strike deals physical damage to enemies hit, reduced to 50% against minions, and slows enemies hit by 50% for 1.5 seconds. The thrust deals increased damage and marks the farthest enemy champion or large monster hit as Challenged for 3.5 seconds, during which they are revealed.

Active: Xin Zhao sweeps his spear around him, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies, capped at 600 against monsters, and knocking back all non-Challenged targets hit over 0.5 seconds, as well as stunning them for the same duration.

For the next 5 seconds, Xin Zhao is invulnerable against enemy champions far away from him.

Even though Xin Zhao has been a popular pick, he has been struggling to be a threat against his foes since the systematic changes that have occurred over the past few patches. We’re increasing some of his damage so that he can feel more confident taking those jungle skirmish fights.

Xin Zhao is currently one of the most dominant junglers on the Rift, particularly in higher levels of play, because of his strong dueling potential and reliable control. We’re pulling back on how frequently Xin Zhao can cast his Three Talon Strike ability to give enemy junglers a fighting chance.

  • Cooldown reduced from 100/85/70 seconds to 80/70/60.

Xin Zhao’s damage output falls off harder than we’d like to see as the game progresses, so we’re increasing the damage scaling on Three Talon Strike and Wind Becomes Lightning to keep him thriving in team fights.

  • Cooldown reduced from 9/8/7/6 seconds to 8/7/6/5.

Xin Zhao has recently been struggling to keep up with other junglers. We’re boosting his early survivability and his late game scaling so that he can better sustain himself in the midst of skirmishes and teamfights.

  • New Effect: Both strikes now hit slightly behind Xin Zhao.
  • Thrust range increased from 600 to 800.
  • Thrust AD ratio reduced from 80% AD to 70%.
  • New Effect: Thrust now challenges champions and monsters and provides vision of the target for 3 seconds. The furthest hit is the one that is challenged.

Audacious Charge

  • New Effect: Target range against challenged targets increased from 550 to 850.
  • AP ratio increased from 60% AP to 80%.

Crescent Guard

  • Base damage reduced from 75/175/275 to 75/150/225.
  • AP ratio increased from 0% AP to 80%.
  • Duration increased from 3 seconds to 5.
  • Removed: Basic attacks and abilities no longer extend Crescent Guard's duration.

Xin Zhao added to Wild Rift

The clear outlier from Patch 1.0, Xin Zhao’s pick rate and win rate are both very high. His full combo is sweeping foes off the map, and teammates can’t even touch him if he has his ultimate on. We’re nerfing his most important stat, Attack Damage, while also making him much squishier.

  • Health growth reduced from 115 to 105.
  • Armor growth reduced from 4.3 to 3.9.
  • Base magic resistance reduced from 38 to 30.

  • Target range reduced from 600 to 550.

  • Cooldown increased from 80/70/60 seconds to 100/85/70.
