Passive - Granite Shield

Innate - Shard of the Monolith: Malphite gains increased percentage size equal to 8% of his total armor, capped at 35% increased size at 437.5 armor.

Innate - Granite Shield: Malphite grants himself a shield equal to 10% of his maximum health. The shield lasts until it is broken, and replenishes to full strength after a few seconds of not taking damage.

Patch 26.2nerf

Malphite’s been a frontrunner on the Rift for a while, both in top and in the jungle. We’re actually very happy that he’s found a real audience in the jungle! That said, he’s still overperforming, so we need to bring him down now while still leaving him with two roles to play. To do that, we’re reducing some of his trading and clearing damage while retaining his high durability to physical damage and strong engage power. We’re also hitting jungle a little more as it’s meant to be slightly weaker than his top lane, as opposed to slightly stronger, which is currently the case.

Malphite has a natural jungle kit with a decent gank paradigm, and repeatable damage for killing monsters. He just doesn't deal enough right now to comfortably clear, so we're juicing both his early game clear (hint hint start W!) and late-game as well, since he often builds full tank and needs his damage to keep up with growth monster health.

  • This applies to all parts of the ability.

Malphite's a solid top laner and a consistent rock for his teams, but even so he is often a bit heavy for his teams. We're giving him a little help this patch by increasing his base armor just a bit to solidify his early game.

Additionally, for 5 seconds, Malphite's basic attacks also deal 10/20/30/40/50 (+ 20% AP) (+ 10% armor) physical damage in a cone to units behind his target.
  • New Active Effect: Thunderclap resets Malphite's basic attack timer.
  • Removed Active: For 6 seconds, Malphite's basic attacks deal 15/30/45/60/75 (+ 10% AP) (+ 15% armor) bonus physical damage which splashes to enemies around his target.
  • Mana cost increased to 30/35/40/45/50 from 25 at all ranks.

Granite Shield (Innate)

  • Malphite summons a shield of rock that absorbs 10% of his maximum health. If Malphite has not been hit, this effect will recharge after 10 seconds.

Ground Slam (Q)

  • Malphite slams the ground sending out a shockwave that deals damage based on his armor and reduces the attack speed of enemies for 4 seconds.

Seismic Shard (W)

  • Using his primal elemental magic, Malphite sends a shard of earth through the ground at his foe, dealing damage and stealing movement speed for 6 seconds.

Brutal Strikes (E)

  • Passive: Malphite's attacks deal damage to units around his target.
  • Active: Malphite's damage is increased by a large %.

Unstoppable Force (Ultimate)

  • Malphite ferociously charges to a location, damage enemies and knocking them into the air when he reaches that location.
