Ambessa LoL Patch NotesPCAmbessaNEW

Drakehound's Step - Innate

  • Innate: During the lockout of Ambessa's abilities, inputting an attack or movement command causes her to dash to or towards the target or location, respectively, after the lockout ends. This dash cannot pass through terrain. Ambessa cannot dash while immobilize or ground.
  • Innate: Whenever Ambessa casts an ability, she generates a stack of Medarda Maxim after the ability's respective lockout for 4 seconds, refreshing with subsequent casts and stacking up to 3 times.
  • Medarda Maxim: Ambessa's next basic attack on-attack is empowered to have an uncancellable windup, gain 75 bonus range and 50% bonus attack speed, and consume a stack to deal 5 to 30 (based on level) (+ 30% bonus AD) bonus physical damage and restore 40/55/70 (at level 1/7/13) energy.
  • Target Range: 175 / 350, Speed: 770/830/890/950 (at level 1/6/11/16) + 100% movement speed.

Cunning Sweep - Q1

  • Active: Ambessa enters a 0.225-second lockout, at the end of which she slashes with her twin drakehounds in a cone in the target direction, dealing 20/30/40/50/60 (+ 30% bonus AD) (+ 1/1.5/2/2.5/3% (+ 1.5% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's maximum health) physical damage to enemies hit. The damage is doubled against enemies hit by the outer edge.
  • Drakehound's Step dash may be buffered during the lockout or initiated within 0.275 seconds of the lockout ending, and Ambessa will perform the dash after her slash completes.
  • If this hits at least one enemy, Ambessa can cast Sundering Slam within the next 3.5 seconds.
  • Against monsters, Cunning Sweep deals 125 bonus physical damage and the damage based on their health ratio is capped at 100 to 300 (based on level).
  • Cost: 70 energy.
  • Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds.
  • Cast Time: None, Effect Radius: 275 / 400.

Sundering Slam - Q2

  • Active: Ambessa enters a 0.225-second lockout, at the end of which she slams her twin drakehounds in a line in the target direction, dealing 25/37.5/50/62.5/75 (+ 45% bonus AD) (+ 1/1.5/2/2.5/3% (+ 2% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's maximum health) physical damage to enemies hit. The damage is doubled against the first enemy hit.
  • Drakehound's Step dash may be buffered during the lockout or initiated within 0.275 seconds of the lockout ending, and Ambessa will perform the dash after her slam completes.
  • Against monsters, Sundering Slam deals 125 bonus physical damage and the damage based on their health ratio is capped at 100 to 300 (based on level).
  • Cost: 70 energy.
  • Cast Time: None, Range: 650, Width: 40.

Repudiation - W

  • Active: Ambessa braces herself for up to 0.5 seconds, during which in the first 0.225 seconds she is lockout. After Ambessa finishes bracing, she smashes the ground beneath her, dealing 50/75/100/125/150 (+ 50% bonus AD) physical damage to nearby enemies.
  • Drakehound's Step dash may be buffered during the lockout or initiated within 0.25 seconds of the lockout ending.
  • Ambessa additionally shield herself for 85 to 350 (based on level) (+ 175% bonus AD) for 2 seconds upon cast. If the shield mitigates any amount of damage taken from champions, large monsters, or turret before Ambessa smashes the ground, Repudiation's damage is increased by 50%.
  • Ambessa will smash the ground at the end of Drakehound's Step dash if she would finish bracing during it, and otherwise always smashes the ground from wherever she is at the end of the bracing time.
  • Cost: 70 energy.
  • Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds.
  • Cast Time: None, Effect Radius: 325.

Lacerate - E

  • Active: Ambessa enters a 0.225-second lockout and spins her twin drakehounds around her to deal 40/65/90/115/140 (+ 40/50/60/70/80% bonus AD) physical damage to nearby enemies and slow them by 99% decaying over 1 second.
  • Drakehound's Step dash may be buffered during the lockout or initiated within 0.275 seconds of the lockout ending; in either case, she will spin a second time at the end of the dash to apply the same effects.
  • Cost: 70 energy.
  • Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9 seconds.
  • Cast Time: None, Effect Radius: 325.

Public Execution - R

  • Passive: Ambessa gains 10/20/30% armor penetration and heals herself for 10/12.5/15% (+ 50% life steal) of the post-mitigation damage she deals to enemies with her active abilities, reduced to 25% against minions and 40% versus monsters.
  • Active: Ambessa prepares a strike in a line in the target direction, then blinks behind the farthest enemy champion within the area and seizes them. If she successfully seizes the target, Ambessa attach them to herself and suppression them for 0.75 seconds, during which she true sight them and picks them up off the ground to afterwards crash them back down, dealing 150/200/250/300/350 (+ 80% bonus AD) physical damage and stun them for 0.4 seconds.
  • Ambessa is displacement immune and lockout during the cast time and while the target is suppressed, lingering for 0.1 seconds afterwards. Drakehound's Step dash may be buffered during the cast time or lockout, as well as initiated within 0.275 seconds of the lockout ending.
  • Cooldown: 130/115/100 seconds.
  • Cast Time: 0.55 seconds, Range: 1250, Width: 65.

Primal Howl

  • Duration of basic attack lockout after recasting reduced to 0.25 seconds from 0.5.

Infinite Duress

  • Undocumented: Radius increased to 205 units from 155.
  • Width of the cast indicator increased to 125 units from 50.
  • New Effect: Now only collides with champions in front of him.
  • Removed: No longer collides with targets whose center are behind him.

We're reworking Statikk Shiv in order to resolve some design issues: it required very specific optimizations to maximize, it was a wave clear item that also slowly chipped down opposing champions, and it sneakily supplied a lot of teamfight burst that was hard to appreciate. We're giving this item a more straightforward set of uses while still being a cheap early game wave clear item.

  • Total cost reduced to 2700 gold from 2900 gold.
  • Combine cost reduced to 450 gold from 650 gold.
  • Attack damage reduced to 45 from 50.
  • Attack speed reduced to 30% from 35%.
  • Unique Passive - Electrospark:
  • New Effect: Your next 3 attacks on-hit within 8 seconds deal 60 bonus magic damage, increased to 85 against non-champions. This bounces to the closest target within 500 units, repeating from the new target to strike up to 5 targets (25 to 10 (based on level) (begins after the first attack) second cooldown).
  • Old Effect: Upon killing a minion or monster, unleash an electric spark at the location of their death which chains to the closest target within 500 units, repeating from the new one to strike up to 6 targets, dealing 120 magic damage to each (3 second cooldown).
  • Unique Passive - Electroshock:
  • New Effect: Scoring a takedown against an enemy champion within 3 seconds of damaging them resets Electrospark's cooldown.
  • Old Effect: Scoring a takedown against an enemy champion unleashes a lightning shock at the location of their death which chains to the closest target within 650 units, repeating from the new one to strike up to 186 targets, dealing 270 magic damage to each.

We're shifting both Opportunity and Youmuu's Ghostblade in ways that, on their surface, appear power neutral. However, players can choose which items they want to buy, so a more focused Opportunity will be better for burstier assassins and a more focused Youmuu's will be better for those who want to roam. We expect both of these items to find a home among various assassins and as always are happy to re-tune any items that aren't viable on anyone.

Yun Tal Wildarrows LoL ItemPCYun Tal WildarrowsChange

We're remaking Yun Tal Wildarrows into the early game auto-attack crit item we promised earlier this year when we removed its pseudo-crit damage. Yun Tal is meant to be purchased in the first slot, but as a piece of a late-game crit ADC build, it starts out weaker than its contemporaries (Essence Reaver, Collector) before scaling and surpassing them in teamfight DPS. As with any significantly updated system, we'll be measuring both its user base and its performance on those users to ensure it has a home in the crit ADC space.

  • Recipe: B. F. Sword + Scout's Slingshot + Long Sword + 750 gold = 3000 gold.
  • Stats: 50 attack damage, 25% attack speed.
  • Unique Passive - Practice Makes Lethal: Basic attacks on-attack grant 0.2% critical strike chance, stacking up to 125 times for a total of 25% critical strike chance.
  • Practice Makes Lethal critical strike chance per stack increased to 0.5% on ARAM.
  • Practice Makes Lethal maximum stacks reduced to 50 on ARAM.
  • Unique Passive - Flurry: Attacking an enemy champion grants you 30% bonus attack speed for 4 seconds (40 second cooldown, reduced by 1 second on-hit, or 2 seconds if it critically strike).
  • Old:
  • Recipe: Pickaxe + Noonquiver + 775 gold = 2950 gold.
  • Stats: 60 attack damage, 25% critical strike chance.
  • Unique Passive - Serrated Edge: Basic damage that critically strike on-hit inflicts a bleed on the target, causing them to take 15 bonus physical damage every 0.5 seconds over 2 seconds. Subsequent applications of the bleed can stack, but do not refresh the duration of the previous bleed.
