Darius was last buffed in Patch 6.1d (). Across 18 patches, Darius has received 11 buffs, 3 nerfs, 4 adjustments since release in Patch 1.0.

Passive - Hemorrhage

Innate - Hemorrhage: Darius' damaging basic attacks and abilities will inflict a stack of Hemorrhage to enemies for 5 seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits and stacking up to 5 times. For each stack, the target is dealt 18 - 46 (based on level) (+ 40% bonus AD) total physical damage over the duration, up to 90 - 230 (based on level) (+ 200% bonus AD) total physical damage. Hemorrhage deals 180% damage against monsters.

Innate - Noxian Might: When Darius kills a champion with Noxian Guillotine, or inflicts 5 stacks on an enemy champion, he becomes empowered for 5 seconds: where he gains 32 / 40 / 48 / 56 bonus attack damage and instantly inflicts 5 Hemorrhage stacks through his usual means.

Active: Darius hefts his axe for 0.75 seconds and then swings it around himself, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies. Against enemies hit by the inner radius, the damage is reduced to 35% and does not inflict Hemorrhage.

Active: Darius empowers his next basic attack within 4 seconds to have an uncancellable windup, gain 25 bonus range, deal bonus physical damage and slow the target by 90% for 1 second. This damage is affected by critical strike modifiers.

Bonus Physical Damage: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60% AD

Crippling Strike resets Darius' basic attack timer.

Active: Darius sweeps his axe in a cone in the target direction, granting sight of the area for 1 second while pulling enemies hit towards him. Upon arrival, they rebound 150 units off of him, becoming slowed by 40% for 1.5 seconds.

Darius is unable to move or cast Decimate or Noxian Guillotine for 0.4 seconds after Apprehend's cast time.

Active: Darius attempts to execute the target enemy champion, unstoppably leaping towards them to deal true damage, increased by 20 px Hemorrhage stacks%, and granting sight of the area around them for 2.5 seconds from the start of the cast time.

If the target dies within 0.15 seconds after being hit by Noxian Guillotine, the cooldown is reset, the mana cost refunded, and Darius fears nearby minions and monsters for 1.5 seconds, during which they are gradually slowed by up to 99% over the duration.

Darius is unable to cast Decimate or Apprehend for 0.25 seconds after Noxian Guillotine's cast time.

Noxian Guillotine

  • New effect: If during the cast time that the target becomes untargetable or exits range, the ability refunds the mana cost and incurs 5 second cooldown.

We noticed that the effect of Darius’ Hemorrhage has not been impactful this patch, which is not ideal since the bleed it provides is essential to his kit. This buff will return Darius to his glorious state. Have fun dunking!

In the current Baron Lane meta, Darius is falling behind the pack. We’re lending this fighter a hand, and increasing his damage. But, we’re also reducing the amount of damage he can do to monsters so we can make sure this boost doesn’t push him into a different lane.

Despite his popularity, Darius has been underforming for all players for a while now. We’re helping out his late game survivability and giving the cooldown on Crippling Strike a flat value. This should give him more agency during the laning phase and team fights.

Darius has been an overly dominant force in the Baron Lane and has been having too easy of a time accessing his Noxian Might. We want him to stay in the fight a little longer before he hits his five bleed stacks and starts dunking, so we’re cutting back on the Attack Speed this Noxian fighter gets as he levels.
