Trinity Force Changes

Patch 7.1b

Change

Trinity Force has dominated the fighter item space for too long, so we’re making adjustments to both its effects and stats. Its high movement speed has put slower champions, especially those who can’t fully benefit from Trinity Force, at a disadvantage. Trinity Force enjoyers have been able to easily kite foes, rotate between jungle areas, or initiate plays thanks to the bonus speed. As a result, we’re removing the movement speed bonus on takedowns and shifting its stat profile more toward durability.

General

  • Ability haste reduced from 25 to 20.
  • Health increased from 250 to 333.

Unique passive - Valor

  • Removed: No longer grants bonus movement speed upon scoring a kill.

Patch 5.0c

Change

Trinity Force’s passive’s name has been changed so it no longer shares the same name as the one Black Cleaver has.

Unique passive - Rage

  • Unique passive renamed from Rage to Valor.

Patch 4.4b

Buff

Tons of damage, tons of gold? Well…kind of. Right now, we feel Trinity Force isn’t doing as much damage as it should, and it’s also costing too much for what it does, so we’re adjusting both!

General

  • Total cost reduced from 3533 gold to 3333 gold.
  • Combine cost reduced from 433 gold to 233 gold.
  • Attack damage increased from 25 to 30.

Patch 3.1b

Buff

Black Cleaver and Divine Sunderer have been rising in popularity as early-game purchases, so we’re giving Trinity Force some more stats to help it compete.

General

  • Attack damage increased from 20 to 25.
  • Health increased from 200 to 250.

Patch 2.3

Nerf

Trinity Force has been doing its job too well, particularly for champions who rely on Attack Speed. To slow their roll a bit, we are tuning it down.

General

  • Attack speed reduced from 40% to 30%.

Patch 2.2

Change

General

  • Total cost reduced from 3733 gold to 3533 gold.
  • Combine cost unchanged at 333 gold, see notes on Sheen.
  • Mana reduced from 300 to 0.

Patch 1.1

New

Trinity Force added to Wild Rift

Removed:

  • No longer grants 20% cooldown reduction.

New effect:

  • Now grants 25 ability haste.
