Death's Dance Changes

Patch 7.0f

Death’s Dance has been providing excessive sustain and survivability for fighters, making it a near must pick item. We are reducing some of its survivability to make it easier for foes to deal effective damage to its users.

Unique passive - Cauterize

  • Burn duration reduced from 4 seconds to 3.

Unique passive - Defy

  • Heal health ratio reduced from 10% maximum health to 8%.

Patch 7.0c

Death’s Dance provides fighters with excessively strong survivability, so we slightly increased its cost to balance its cost-effectiveness.

General

  • Total cost increased from 3000 gold to 3100 gold.
  • Combine cost increased from 900 gold to 1000 gold.

  • Damage storage reduced from Melee 30% / Ranged 12% to Melee 27% / Ranged 12%.

Patch 5.1b

Change

Unique passive - Dance

  • Bugfix: Fixed a bug where the health ratio did not factor bonus health gained from runes, Heartsteel, and champion abilities.

Patch 4.4

Nerf

We’ve seen some incidents where the bleeding effect from Cauterize on monsters and minions would interrupt players' recalls, causing their back timers to be ruined or getting them caught by foes. So, we’ve removed the effect of Cauterize on monsters and minions so players can get their recall off as soon as possible.

Unique Passive - Cauterize

  • Removed: No longer activates against damage from minions and monsters.

Patch 4.2b

Buff

We’ve seen fighters struggling during this update, so we’re slightly increasing the sustainability of Death’s Dance to give a leg-up to those bold enough to wield it. And provide them with more opportunities to shine in the battle.

Unique passive - Dance

  • Heal increased from 10% maximum health to 12%.

Patch 3.3a

Nerf

Death’s Dance has a lot of power and has been frustrating for fighters recently. We’re looking to bring down some of that frustration by reducing the snowballing power of its takedown heal.

Unique passive - Dance

  • Heal reduced from 15% maximum health to 10%.

Patch 3.1

Change

Currently, items for fighters in Wild Rift focus on a lot of basic Health and Attack Damage items that are powerful in every game regardless of who you are facing. We want players to have more options and choices on how they build, so we’re making Death’s Dance an item that is more powerful against physical damage, rather than being a good purchase every game no matter who you are up against.

New:

  • Recipe: Chain Vest + Caulfield's Warhammer + 900 gold = 3000 gold.
  • Stats: 15 ability haste, 35 attack damage, 40 armor.
  • Unique Passive - Cauterize: Stores Melee 35% / Ranged 15% of all post-mitigation physical damage received, which is successively taken as true damage over 3 seconds instead, dealing a third of the stored damage each second.
  • Unique Passive - Dance: Champion takedowns remove Cauterize's remaining stored damage, and heal you for 15% maximum ealth over 2 seconds.

Old:

  • Recipe: Kindlegem + Vampiric Scepter + 800 gold = 3000 gold.
  • Stats: 15 ability haste, 35 attack damage, 300 health.
  • Unique Passive - Cauterize: 30% of damage taken is instead dealt as a bleed effect over 3 seconds.
  • Unique Passive - Dance: +10% Physical Vamp.
