Passive - Battle Fury

Innate: Tryndamere's basic attacks against enemy champions grant 30% / 45% / 60% / 75% bonus attack speed for 5 seconds.

Innate: Tryndamere generates 5 Fury on his basic attacks, 10 Fury on his critical strikes, and 15 Fury each time he kills an enemy. After 8 seconds without dealing or taking damage, Tryndamere loses 5 Fury per second.

Tryndamere gains 0.32% - 0.5% (based on level) critical rate for each point of fury. Every 1% critical rate in excess of 100% is converted into 1 bonus attack damage.

Active: Tryndamere reduces the attack damage of nearby enemy champions by 40% for 3 seconds. Targets facing in the opposite direction of Tryndamere are also slowed for the duration.

The target does not have to be visible to be targeted by this ability.

Active: Tryndamere dashes to the target location, dealing physical damage to enemies hit and generating 2 Fury per enemy hit.

Physical Damage: 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 (+ 135% bonus AD) (+ 100% AP)

Critical strikes on-hit against minions reduce Spinning Slash's current cooldown by 1 second, doubled to 2 seconds against champions.

Bloodlust and Undying Rage can be cast during the dash.

Tryndamere has been performing poorly, especially at higher ranks. These adjustments will make it easier for him to stay within striking distance of his enemies.

Spinning Slash

  • Cooldown reduced from 12/11/10/9 seconds to 11/10/9/8.
  • AD ratio increased from 130% bonus AD to 135%.

General

  • Skin renamed from Immortal Journey Tryndamere to Wavebreaker Sword Tryndamere.
  • New Lore: Tryndamere always desired to be worthy of wielding a sacred sword like those of legend. Yet, despite seeking out what he believed to be his purpose, he still had nothing to show for it. It was only once he encountered Diana and witnessed the ways of her Serene Waters Sword that he understood he would have to forge his weapon himself.
  • Old Lore: Tryndamere came from the harsh frigid northern region. Seeking the ultimate essence of martial arts, he challenged countless opponents as he made his way down south. Having heard that there was an immortal beneath the lake, he thereby cleansed himself and called out for the immortal to face him in combat. Tryndamere's disrespect drew the attention of Immortal Journey Diana, who crossed the waves and came at him with swordsmanship powerful enough to engulf the lakes and seas. They fought from night till dawn, without determining a victor. However, from Diana's swordsmanship, Tryndamere had already found the inspiration he needed to further his own skills with his blade.

Tryndamere is struggling to go toe to toe with other carry champions in the Baron Lane, especially in higher levels of play, so we’re buffing his regeneration which should help him perform better in lane.

  • Cooldown reduced from 14 seconds to 12.

We’ve noticed that Tryndamere has been struggling in the earlier stages of the laning phase compared to his fellow fighters in the Baron Lane. We’re increasing his base Attack Damage, which we hope helps him in those early lane skirmishes.

Patch 4.1Change

The Barbarian King hasn’t made an appearance in the Baron Lane for a while now. We’re giving him a few buffs to keep him from being strong-armed by his opponents and falling behind in the earlier and later stages of the game.

  • Slow reduced from 20/30/40/50% to 15/20/25/30%.

Patch 3.0Nerf

Despite recent nerfs, Tryndamere is still one of the most dominant junglers across all skill levels. To reduce his clear speed and overall mobility in the jungle, we’re removing the cooldown reduction that Tryndamere gains toward Spinning Slash when landing critical strikes against monsters.

  • Removed: Critical strikes against monsters no longer reduce the cooldown by 1 second.
Patch 2.5aNerf

Since the release of his rework, Tryndamere has been overperforming in the jungle. We're pulling back on the bonus attack speed gained from his passive to reduce the power of his early ganks and tone down his late-game power spike.

Patch 2.5Change

Consistently across all skill levels, but particularly in higher skill games, Tryndamere has struggled as a laner but performed quite well as a jungler. This patch, we’re taking a larger swing at balancing out his positions by giving him a new mechanic he can take advantage of in lane more so than in the jungle. As a result, we also needed to rebalance some of his stats and abilities to make sure jungle Trynd was not overly buffed. This is a pretty large change, so we’ll be keeping an eye on how he performs. RAAAARGH!

  • New: 0.32 to 0.5% (based on level) critical strike chance per Fury.
  • Old: 0.16 to 0.3% (based on level) critical strike chance per Fury, doubled at 100 Fury.
  • Fury generation from kills with basic attacks increased from 10 to 15.
  • New Effect: Basic attacking a champion grants 50/55/65/75% (based on Undying Rage's rank) bonus attack speed for 5 seconds (6 second cooldown after attack speed runs out).

Bloodlust

  • Heal per Fury increased from 0.5/1.1/1.7/2.3 to 0.7/1.3/1.9/2.5.

Mocking Shout

  • Slow reduced from 30/40/50/60% to 20/30/40/50%.

Undying Rage

  • New Effect: Passively increases Battle Fury bonus attack speed to 55/65/75%.

Tryndamere was pretty average before the crit item nerfs, and he felt weak after we swung the nerf bat. We’re giving him a little something more to rage about.

  • Bonus AD per 1% missing health increased from 0.2/0.25/0.3/0.35 to 0.25/0.3/0.35/0.4.

Undying Rage

  • Cooldown reduced from 100/90/80 seconds to 100/85/70.
