Jayce hasn’t been as impactful in the later stages of the game like we hoped. These changes will improve his survivability so he can hammer through more teamfights.

- Slightly increased Acceleration Gate combo cast period.
- Bugfix: Fixed an issue where the ability displays as Acceleration Gate when it is cast immediately after Acceleration Gate and incurs cooldown.
Jayce hasn’t been as dominant in Lane as we had hoped. These changes will make it easier for him to snowball, and the jungle adjustment will make sure he doesn’t clear camps too quickly.

Jayce has been struggling to perform in lane, but has recently started to shine in the jungle. We’ve made some adjustments to his hammer form, which should make his opponents think twice before stepping up to The Defender of Tomorrow. We’re also adjusting the damage he does to monsters so he isn’t as efficient at hammering away at the jungle camps.

The golden boy of Piltover has always had lots of tools at his disposal, however his heavy hammer was sometimes holding him back, so we’re reducing its cooldown. We’re also making some adjustments to Jayce’s controls for this patch. The timing on Jayce’s Shock Blast and Acceleration Gate combo can be a bit too strict for both new and experienced players, so we’re improving it’s usability for players looking to become The Defender of Tomorrow.
Shock Blast
- New effect: Shock Blast can now be recast to cast Acceleration Gate when available. Acceleration Gate will place in front.
Transform Mercury Cannon / Transform Mercury Hammer
- Cooldown reduced from 6 seconds to 5.
Players who haven’t put as much time into Jayce haven’t been able to take advantage of his Hammer form, so we’re making it a little more forgiving to stay in Cannon form. This should ease some of Jayce’s mastery curve and help you to nail those plays with your hammer.

Jayce hasn’t performed that well outside of higher levels of play. To make Piltover’s finest a bit more approachable, we’re cautiously giving him a little extra scaling on his Attack Damage.

Jayce has been dominating the Baron lane with his high burst damage, strong mobility, and his ability to make safe trades in his ranged form. We’re toning down Jayce’s early game power to give his opponents a fighting chance during the laning phase.
