We’re excited to see that the new items have been adding some fresh gameplay on the Rift, but their power needs to stay in check. Master Yi’s unusually strong synergy with Guinsoo’s Rageblade left too little counterplay, so we increased Alpha Strike’s downtime and adjusted its overall damage to keep his scaling intact while making him easier to deal with.
Alpha Strike
- Cooldown increased from 16/15/14/13 seconds 17/16/15/14.
- Base damage reduced from 30/70/110/150 to 20/60/100/140.
- Bonus damage against minions and monsters increased from 95/125/155/185 to 105/135/165/195.
Wuju Style
- Bonus true damage reduced from 40/45/50/55 to 30/35/40/45.
Highlander
- Bonus attack speed increased from 30/50/70% to 30/60/90%.
Stats
- Base health increased from 610 to 630.
- Armor growth increased from 3.9 to 4.5.
- Health growth increased from 105 to 120.
- Magic resistance growth increased from 1.6 to 2.
We’re further optimizing Meditate so you can sustain damage reduction even if its channeling is interrupted. This will give Master Yi more opportunities to show off his swordsmanship in team fights.
Meditate
- New effect: Incoming damage reduction for the first 0.5 seconds will linger even when the channel is interrupted.
Wuju Style
- Base bonus true damage increased from 35/45/55/65 to 40/45/50/55.
- AD ratio reduced from 30% bonus AD to 25%.
Our favorite Blademaster has been Alpha Striking into tricky situations and then getting stuck. These changes will make sure he can get in and get out!
Meditate
- New effect: Master Yi gains 90% incoming damage reduction during the first 0.5 seconds, which then reduces to 55%.
Wuju Style
- New effect: Ability cast will now reset basic attack timer.
Highlander
- New effect: Takedowns will reduce Meditate remaining cooldown by 90% total cooldown instead of 70%.
When it comes to team fights Master Yi has been more of an apprentice. These changes will make sure he’s impactful as the team is prepping for objectives!
Wuju Style
- Base bonus true damage increased from 30/40/50/60 to 35/45/55/65.
- Bonus true damage AD ratio increased from 25% AD to 30%.
Master Yi hasn’t been performing well in higher levels of play. We’re improving his jungle clear speed and giving him room to use his abilities to dodge damage from foes more often in teamfights.
Stats
- Base attack damage increased from 52 to 54.
Alpha Strike
- Cooldown reduced from 17/16/15/14 seconds to 16/15/14/13.
Stats
- Base movement speed increased from 345 to 355.
Wuju like to show off your skill more with Master Yi? If so, we're here to help. We’ve seen Master Yi struggling to keep up with other junglers in higher levels of play. To give Yi players some more room for skill expression, we’re reducing the passive Attack Damage that he gains from his Wuju Style ability, but increasing the true damage he gains from activation Wuju Style at the right moment.
Wuju Style
- Passive bonus attack damage reduced from 10% AD to 8%.
Highlander
- Cooldown reduced from 80/70/60 seconds to 70/65/60.
After recent nerfs, Master Yi has been clearing jungle camps more slowly than we’d like to see. To address this, we’re amping up the bonus damage to monsters that the Wuju Bladesman deals with his Alpha Strike.
Alpha Strike
- Bonus damage against monsters increased from 80/110/140/170 to 95/125/155/185.
Despite our recent nerfs, Master Yi is still dominating the jungle. To tone down his ability to blaze through jungle camps and quickly burst down his foes during duels, we’re slashing some of the Attack Damage his Alpha Strike grants.
Alpha Strike
- Base damage changed from 25/70/115/160 to 30/70/110/150.
- AD ratio reduced from 100% AD to 60%.
We know that Master Yi has been terrorizing the rift and been perma-ban status for a lot of players since our update to his Alpha Strike. It’s allowed him to clear the jungle at turbo speed, so we’re reducing the bonus damage he deals to monsters so this Wuju Bladesman isn’t the undisputed clear speed king.
Alpha Strike
- Bonus damage against monsters reduced from 90/125/160/195 to 80/110/140/170.
- Subsequent damage against non-champions reduced from 100% to 25%.
We’re looking for ways to improve satisfaction and mastery for Master Yi, and our plan here is to increase some of the interesting optimizations around Alpha Strike and raise satisfaction without causing this Wuji Bladesman to be overly dominant.
Alpha Strike
- New Effect: If there are no other targets, Alpha Strike can attack the same target again for 25% damage.
Master Yi has been overperforming with his recent buffs and his synergy with new items (like Navori Quickblades) is too strong. We’re pulling back on some of the power he gained from Patch 2.4a to ensure the Wuju Blademaster fights fairly.
Stats
- Health growth reduced from 115 to 105.
Wuju Style
- Bonus true damage reduced from 25/40/55/70 to 22/34/46/58.
Highlander
- Cooldown increased from 75/60/45 seconds to 80/70/60.
Master Yi has been struggling to keep his footing in the jungle, so we're giving him a handful of buffs that will allow him to participate in skirmishes more frequently and scale into the late game more effectively.
Stats
- Armor growth increased from 3.5 to 3.9.
Alpha Strike
- Bonus damage against monsters increased from 75/110/145/180 to 90/125/160/195.
Wuju Style

Wuju Style
- Active bonus damage against structures reduced from 100% to 33%.
Stats
- Base mana regeneration reduced from 15 to 12.
Master Yi added to Wild Rift
Yi truly mastered the power of Wuju and was an unstoppable tank-melting, split-pushing terror, so we took a chunk out of his attack damage per level, as well as the damage gained via (3) Wuju Style.
Base Stats
- AD per Level: 4.55 → 3.6
(3) Wuju Style
- True Damage AD Ratio: 0.35 → 0.25
