Lucian was last nerfed in Patch 6.3f (). Across 20 patches, Lucian has received 12 buffs, 6 nerfs, 2 adjustments since release in Patch 2.3b.

Passive - Lightslinger

Innate: After casting an ability, Lucian's next basic attack within 3.5 seconds fires an additional shot on-attack after 0.25 seconds, dealing physical damage equal to ((35% / 50% / 65%) / minion 100%) AD. He will shoot the same target, else another target in range.

The second shot applies on-hit and on-attack effects, and is affected by critical strike modifiers.

Innate - Vigilance: Whenever an allied champion grants Lucian a heal or shield, or immobilizes an enemy champion within 1000 units, his next two shots within 6 seconds will deal 20 (+ 10% AD) bonus magic damage on-hit. He can store up to 4 shots at a time.

Active: Lucian fires a missile in the target direction that explodes in a cross pattern upon hitting an enemy or maximum range, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and granting sight of the area for 1 second.

Magic Damage: 75 / 125 / 175 / 225 (+ 90% AP)
Bonus Move Speed: 65 / 70 / 75 / 80

Enemies hit are marked for 6 seconds. When he or allied champions damage a marked target, Lucian gains bonus movement speed for 1 second. Allied champions triggering this effect grant him Lightslinger.

Active: Lucian dashes in the target direction. Each Lightslinger attack reduces Relentless Pursuit's remaining cooldown by (1 / champion 2) seconds.

Relentless Pursuit resets Lucian's basic attack timer. Abilities can be cast during the dash.

Range: centered range 1200 / edge range 1140 (plus offset)

Active: Lucian channels for up to 3 seconds, rapidly firing a number of shots in the target direction. Each shot deals physical damage to the first enemy hit, doubled against minions. The Culling can be recast after 0.75 seconds during the channel, and does so automatically afterwards.

As a marksman, Lucian struggles to pose a significant threat to enemies in the mid-to-late game. To address this, we've made him more agile in mid-game fights while also boosting his damage for the later stages.

  • Vigilance AD ratio reduced from 20% AD to 10%.

Piercing Light

  • Base damage reduced 100/145/190/235 to 90/135/180/225.

We’re adjusting Lucian's abilities to allow for better performance as a marksman.

Stats

  • Armor growth increased from 3.9 to 4.5.
  • Magic resistance growth increased from 0.8 to 1.5.

Lightslinger

  • New Innate - Vigilance: Whenever Lucian is healed or shielded by an ally ability, or an enemy champion within 1000 units is immobilized, his next two shots within 6 seconds are empowered to deal 20 (+ 20% AD) bonus magic damage on-hit. He can store up to 4 empowered shots at a time.
  • Second shot AD ratio changed from 50/57.5/65% (at level 1/6/11) AD to 40/55/70% (at level 1/6/11) AD.

Ardent Blaze

  • New Effect: Ally mark triggers now trigger Lightslinger.

Lucian is lagging behind his fellow marksmen. We’re making sure he can keep up with the rest of the pack.

Lucian has been falling off in the mid-to-late game. This change should allow him to apply marks more often and trigger his passive more often, leading to smoother and more impactful gameplay.

  • Base damage increased from 75/120/165/210 to 75/125/175/225.

Lucian is another one who’s been off the mark lately. We’re hoping these changes will make for a stronger late game but still ensure he doesn’t overwhelm his opponents early on.

  • AD ratio increased from 120% bonus AD to 125%.

  • Base attack speed bonus increased from 20% to 30%.
  • Base movement speed increased from 335 to 345.
  • Attack speed growth increased from 2.2% to 3.2%.

Recently we’ve added attack speed scaling for some of our other marksmen, so we want to bring the same to Lucian’s first ability!

The systemic changes we’ve made in recent patches have favored Lucian, so much so that he’s become an extremely dominating force especially in early lanes. Our solucian to this, is to give his opponents a little more breathing room by increasing the cooldown on Piercing Light.

Lucian has been underperforming and his current build and playstyle centers around his auto-attacks rather than his abilities. So, we’re giving him a small buff targeted towards his more caster-y builds.

Lucian is still underperforming in the Dragon Lane despite recent buffs, so we're increasing the damage of The Culling to bring him in line with other marksmen.

After being nerfed and then his core items taking a hit too, Lucian’s ended up too weak. We’re giving him back a little power in his health and dash to put him in a more stable state.

  • Cooldown reduced from 23/20/17/14 seconds to 22/19/16/13.

Lucian is overperforming in multiple lanes and scaling too well, so these changes tone down his overall scaling and make him a bit easier to catch when he’s playing aggressively.

  • Armor growth reduced from 4.3 to 3.9.

Relentless Pursuit

  • Cooldown increased from 22/19/16/13 seconds to 23/20/17/14.
Patch 2.4Nerf

Lucian is quickly tearing up the Rift. These changes to his core stats will make Lucian a bit less oppressive and level the playing field for his foes.
