Pyke was last buffed in Patch 6.0 (). Across 15 patches, Pyke has received 7 buffs, 3 nerfs, 5 adjustments since release in Patch 3.2b.

Abilities
Gift of the Drowned OnesWR
Passive - Gift of the Drowned Ones

Innate: Pyke's maximum health cannot increase except through growth (per level), instead he gains 1 bonus attack damage per 14 bonus health.

Innate: Pyke stores 10% (+ 0.35% per 1 Armor Pen) of the post-mitigation damage he takes from enemy champions as grey health on his health bar, increased to 50% (+ 0.65% per 1 Armor Pen) while there are two or more visible enemy champions nearby. He can store up to 160 (+ 800% bonus AD) grey health, with an upper cap of 65% of his maximum health.

While Pyke is not visible to enemies, he rapidly consumes his grey health to heal for the same amount.

Cast Time: 0.25

Active: Pyke charges while being slowed by 15% for up to 3 seconds to increase Bone Skewer's range over the first second of the channel. Bone Skewer can be recast within the duration.

Physical Damage: 130 / 195 / 260 / 325 (+ 60% bonus AD)
Non-Champion Damage: 65 / 97.5 / 130 / 162.5 (+ 30% bonus AD)

Recast: Pyke hurls his harpoon in the target direction, becoming unable to act while it is in flight and dealing physical damage to the first enemy hit and pulling them, during which they are also revealed, then slowing them by 90% for 1 second. Deals 50% damage against minions and monsters.

Releasing the ability within 0.4 seconds causes Pyke to instead thrust his blade in the target direction, dealing the same damage to all enemies hit.

If the charge completes without reactivation, Bone Skewer is cancelled, the ability's cooldown is reduced by 50%, and 50% of the mana cost is refunded. If the charge is interrupted, the ability is placed on full cooldown.

Active: Pyke submerges into water for 5 seconds, entering camouflage and gaining 40% (+ 2% per 1 Armor Pen) bonus movement speed that decays over the duration. Attacking or casting abilities ends Ghostwater Dive immediately.

Enemy champions near Pyke are alerted of his presence and whether he can execute them with Death from Below.

Active: Pyke dashes in the target direction, leaving behind a Phantom.

Physical Damage: 120 / 175 / 230 / 285 (+ 100% bonus AD)
Non-Champion Damage: 60 / 87.5 / 115 / 142.5 (+ 50% bonus AD)

After 1 second, the Phantom homes back to Pyke to deal physical damage and stun enemies it passes through for 1.5 (+ 0.1 per 10 Armor Pen) seconds. Deals 50% damage against minions and monsters.

Active: Pyke marks the target location with the shape of an X before striking it, executing enemy champions within the area that are below a certain health threshold. Other enemies hit and enemy champions above the threshold are instead dealt 50% of the amount as physical damage.

Execution Health Threshold: 250 / 400 / 550 (+ 80% bonus AD) (+ 2.5 per 1 Armor Pen)

If Death from Below hits an enemy champion or at least one is killed inside the X by the execution or an ally, Pyke will blink to the center of the X. For the latter case Pyke can also recast the ability within 15 seconds at no cost.

Each successful execution grants Pyke 100% of the kill's gold. If there is an assisting ally, they earn 100% of the kill's gold and Pyke instead earns 160% of that amount (up to 600). If an enemy champion is killed inside the X by an ally, Pyke instead earns 160% of the kill's gold (up to 600).

As a support champion, Pyke is not performing well in duo lane. We improved his crowd control abilities to make it easier for him to take down his enemies.

Bone Skewer

  • Cooldown changed from 9.5/9/8.5/8 seconds to 10/9/8/7.
  • Charge movement speed penalty reduced from 20% to 15%.

Phantom Undertow

  • Base stun duration increased from 1.25 seconds to 1.5.

Pyke stun lasts a long time, making it difficult to play around. We’re changing how long it lasts to ensure fair counterplay.

Since the update to support items, Pyke has struggled to be that deadly threat to other supports. We’re buffing some of his damage so we can continue to position him as that assassin support who can strike at any moment. We also are adjusting his overall damage to monsters and minions so that these changes don’t make him too strong in other roles.

Pyke has been having a hard time finding a way to enter fights in the later stages of the game since he's on the squishier side. We’re slightly increasing his resistances and damage so that we can help improve his performance in the late game.

After our recent round of buffs, we saw that we went too far and gave Pyke too much power, so we’re continuing to pull back on some of his power in the jungle and Mid Lane and moving it to his supportive assets.

Currently, Pyke support is weaker when compared to picking him in the Mid Lane or Jungle. So we’re making some adjustments all around to balance his power between the three roles.

  • Damage against monsters reduced from 110% to 100%.

Death from Below

  • New effect: Pyke earns 100% bounty gold from any takedown in the X. This amount is increased to 120% (max 600) on assisted takedowns. The last assisting ally also earns 100% bounty gold.
  • Old effect: Pyke earns 110% additional gold from any takedown in the X (max 550), with the last assisting ally earning 100% bounty gold.
Patch 4.1Buff

We’re giving this bounty hunter a bit of a mini rework this patch. We want to allow him the flexibility to be played in Mid Lane and the jungle, so we’re increasing the damage he does to monsters and adjusting how his ultimate works.

We’ve checked our list, and despite previous buffs Pyke is still not powerful for most players. We’re lending him a hand and giving Pyke a few more cooldown buffs to help him with his in-and-out fight patterns more.

  • Cooldown reduced from 11.5/11/10.5/10 seconds to 10.5/10/9.5/9.

Phantom Undertow

  • Cooldown reduced from 12.5/12/11.5/11 seconds to 11/10.5/10/9.5.

Pyke’s performance as a support has been somewhat lackluster even as players have invested many games to master him. We’re giving him a few adjustments to help him scrap enemies in lane while limiting his ability to clear waves to ensure he doesn’t exclusively use his newly buffed power to shove and roam.

  • Damage against minions and monsters reduced from 50% to 25%.

Phantom Undertow

  • Cooldown reduced from 14/13/12/11 seconds to 12.5/12/11.5/11.
Patch 3.3aChange

Despite players climbing his mastery curve, Pyke isn’t performing as well as we’d like to see in the support role. We’re giving him some leeway to take some extra damage here and there particularly in the support role. Given his performance in other roles, we’re also cutting back on his ability to clear waves and jungle camps as easily as he can.

Patch 3.3Buff

Pyke hasn’t been the best at hunting down targets on his List, so we’re giving him a bit more damage and even more reasons to stack up Armor Penetration.
