Lux was last buffed in Patch 6.1 (). Across 15 patches, Lux has received 7 buffs, 1 nerf, 7 adjustments since release in Patch 1.1.

Passive - Illumination

Innate: Lux's abilities inflict a mark to enemies hit for 6 seconds. Her basic attacks and ability hits will consume the mark to deal 25.5 - 130.5 (based on level) (+ 25% AP) bonus magic damage.

Active: Lux shoots a ball of light in the target direction that deals magic damage to enemies hit. Against champions and large monsters, this will root up to 2 targets hit for 2 seconds, stopping prematurely.

Magic Damage: 60 / 120 / 180 / 240 (+ 70% AP)

Light Binding deals 90% damage against minions and small monsters, and will not inflict Illumination against them.

Active: Lux throws her wand in the target direction, granting allied champions hit a shield lasting 3 seconds. At maximum range, it homes back to her while granting another shield, stacking with the previous shield and refreshing its duration.

Active: Lux sends a lucent singularity to the target location that remains for 5 seconds. It grants sight of the area and will detonate if an enemy is nearby, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and slowing them for 2 seconds.

Lux’s early burst damage is shining too bright, especially in lane. We’ve toned down her early damage and shielding power while maintaining her scaling and late-game burst potential.

Prismatic Barrier

  • Outbound base shield reduced from 30/55/80/105 to 25/50/75/100.
  • Outbound shield AP ratio increased from 15% AP to 18%.
  • Rebound base shield reduced from 48/88/128/168 to 40/70/100/130.
  • Rebound shield AP ratio increased from 24% AP to 28%.
Patch 6.0Buff

Lux is performing poorly in lane. We increased her damage to minions to give her more opportunity for highlights in mid lane.

[HOTFIX] Since her rework, Lux has been over performing in the Mid and Baron Lane. To give her foes more possibi-light-ies to counter her, we’re making adjustments to her passive and second ability. These changes will also make Lux choose between protecting herself or protecting her teammates.

  • Base damage reduced from 40 to 152 (based on level) to 32 to 130 (based on level).

Prismatic Barrier

  • Cooldown increased from 11/10/9/8 seconds to 12/11/10/9.
  • Base first shield reduced from 40/75/110/145 to 30/55/80/105.
  • First shield AP ratio increased from 10% AP to 15%.
  • Base second shield reduced from 80/150/220/290 to 48/88/128/168.
  • Second shield AP ratio increased from 20% AP to 24%.

We’re doing a mini-rework to The Lady of Luminosity! These changes will go live July 6 PST, and while we’re still tweaking some of the numbers, we wanted to give you a high-level summary, before her update goes live! We’ll include all the number changes in our next set of Patch Notes.

Illumination

  • Base damage reduced from 50 to 190 (based on level) to 40 to 152 (based on level).
  • AP ratio reduced from 30% AP to 25%.
  • New effect: Can now be detonated by ability hits.

Light Binding

  • Damage against minions reduced from 100% to 30%.
  • Damage against small monsters reduced from 100% to 30%.
  • Removed: No longer roots minions and small monsters.
  • Removed: No longer inflicts Illumination against minions and small monsters.

Lucent Singularity

  • New effect: Now detonates automatically when enemies are within the area.
  • Removed: Can no longer be recast.
  • Cooldown start changed from post-effect to on-cast.

Mid Lux is in a good spot, but support Lux is in a bit of a bind. We’re shifting some of the power out of her Ability Power ratios and into her base damage to help, since the support role won’t have as much Ability Power.

  • First shield AP ratio reduced from 15% AP to 10%.

  • AP ratio reduced from 60% AP to 55%
Patch 3.5Change

The previous changes to Lux made her a force to be reckoned with in the Mid Lane, but she isn’t scaling as well as we’d like in the Support role. We’re redistributing some of the power around her kit to get her into a better place in both roles and reach new lights.

Patch 3.3Buff

Despite the popularity of playing this luminous lady in the support position, she’s currently not performing as well as we’d like there, so we’re adding some spark to the value of Lux’s primary supportive output.

  • Second base shield increased from 75/105/135/165 to 100/140/180/220.
  • Second shield AP ratio increased from 30% AP to 40%.

Final Spark

  • Cooldown reduced from 60/50/40 seconds to 55/45/40.
Patch 2.5Buff

Lux is very close to being in a healthy spot in mid. We are giving her some love to her ultimate’s scaling to reward high AP builds.
