Yone was last nerfed in Patch 6.2k (). Across 12 patches, Yone has received 4 buffs, 4 nerfs, 4 adjustments since release in Patch 3.4.

Way of the HunterWR
Passive - Way of the Hunter

Innate - Intent: Yone's total critical rate is doubled from all other sources. Additionally, every 1% critical rate in excess of 100% is converted into 0.6 bonus attack damage.

Innate - Steel and Spirit: Yone's basic attacks alternate between his Steel Sword and Azakana Sword on-attack. He begins attacking with Steel Sword, then with Azakana Sword dealing 50% AD physical damage and 50% AD magic damage.

Active: Yone stabs in a line in the target direction that deals physical damage to enemies hit, applies on-hit effects to the first enemy hit, and triggers on-attack effects once. Mortal Steel's damage based on its AD ratio can critically strike for critical damage damage. Mortal Steel deals 65% damage against monsters.

Physical Damage: 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 (+ 100% AD)

If this hits at least one enemy, Yone generates a stack of Gathering Storm for 6 seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits and stacking up to 2 times. At 2 stacks, the next cast consumes them all for a new effect.

Gathering Storm Bonus: Yone dashes a fixed distance in the target direction and throws out a whirlwind in the same direction, both dealing the same damage to enemies hit in their path and knocking them up for 0.75 seconds, but being unable to affect the same target twice.

Mortal Steel's thrust will fail to hit targets after the cast time if Yone was affected by disarming crowd control during it, but the cooldown of the ability is reset to 0.1 seconds.

Active: Yone cleaves a cone in the target direction, dealing equal parts physical and magic damage to enemies hit. The total mixed damage has a minimum threshold of 60 - 200 (based on level) against minions and a maximum threshold of 30 - 280 (based on level) against monsters.

Total Mixed Damage: 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 (+ 0.01% target's maximum health)

If this hits an enemy, Yone shields himself for 30 (+ 70% bonus AD) lasting 1.5 seconds, increased by 100% / 140% / 180% / 220% / 260%.

Active: Yone dashes a fixed distance in the target direction and enters Spirit Form for 5 seconds. His body is sent the same way backwards (without crossing terrain), and remains untargetable until it is reclaimed when Spirit Form ends.

Damage Stored: 24 / 28 / 32 / 36% damage dealt

Spirit Form: Yone gains 10% bonus movement speed over the duration. His damaging basic attacks and abilities against enemy champions inflict a mark that stores a portion of the post-mitigation damage dealt.

Activation resets Way of the Hunter current sword state. Soul Unbound can be recast after 0.5 seconds, and does so automatically after the duration.

Recast: Yone dashes back to his body with displacement immunity, ending Spirit Form and consuming the marks on each champion to deal true damage equal to the total amount of damage stored against each of them.

The automatic recast is delayed if Yone is winding up a basic attack or is unable to recast Soul Unbound under any circumstances, which includes if he cannot move or cast abilities. Soul Unbound will also immediately recast upon death or entering resurrection.

Active: Yone prepares a strike over the cast time, then marks all enemies within an area in the target direction, knocking them down and stunning them for 1 second. He blinks 200-range beyond the last enemy champion struck, or else to maximum range instead.

Total Mixed Damage: 200 / 350 / 500 (+ 80% bonus AD)

After 0.3 seconds, a gust rushes along the same area that deals equal parts physical and magic damage to marked enemies within and pulls them towards the location Yone blinked to, then knocks them up for 0.75 seconds.

The stun ends prematurely upon the knock up.

We’re reworking how Yone benefits from crit items, shifting more power to late game scaling while reducing early threat according to his current performance in game.

Way of the Hunter

  • Bonus AD increased from 0.4 per 1% excess critical rate to 0.6.
  • Removed: No longer grants a critical damage penalty of 10%.
  • This penalty would also apply to Mortal Steel.

Spirit Cleave

  • Health ratio reduced from 12/13/14/15% target's maximum health to 11/12/13/14%.

We’ve increased Yone’s mid-to-late game power, emphasizing his strength in extended skirmishes and when he looks to poke in lane.

We’re tweaking Yone’s numbers ever so slightly to make sure he’s in line with everyone else.

Yone is a flexible champion that can be played in both Solo Lanes as well in the Jungle. These changes will make it easier for him to trade with his opponents in Lane, and clear Jungle camps faster to join in on the fun!

Yone is on the strong side, and feedback from you all has been very clear that he’s extremely frustrating to play against in his current form. So, we’re slashing some of his waveclear and defensive capabilities to make sure that he exposes himself to proper risks.

Spirit Cleave

  • Minimum damage against minions changed from 50 to 400 (based on level) to 60 to 200 (based on level)
  • Maximum damage against monsters changed from 100 to 380 (based on level) to 80 to 290 (based on level).
  • Base shield reduced from 40 to 30.
Patch 3.5Change

Despite recent changes, Yone is still performing above our expectations, particularly in higher levels of play. To address this, we’re reducing how much damage he can do with Spirit Cleave and lowering the frequency that he can assault his foes with Soul Bound.

Way of the Hunter

  • New effect: Critical strike chance over 100% is not increased by Intent, but is converted to 0.8 AD per 1% critical strike chance.

Spirit Cleave

  • Base damage reduced from 20/30/40/50 to 10/20/30/40.

Soul Unbound

  • Cooldown increased from 20/17/14/11 seconds to 20/18/16/14.
Patch 3.4bChange

Yone has been overperforming since his release, so we’re pulling back on his overall damage while also increasing his scaling health in order to increase his durability in those late game team fights.

Stats

  • Health growth increased from 105 to 112.
  • Base attack damage reduced from 58 to 54.

Spirit Cleave

  • Maximum damage against monsters changed from 150 to 360 (based on level) to 100 to 380 (based on level).

Fate Sealed

  • Base damage reduced from 200/400/600 to 200/350/500.
