Passive - A Thousand Cuts

Innate: Gwen's basic attacks on-hit, the center of Snip Snip!, and Needlework all deal bonus magic damage equal to 1% (+ 0.5% per 100 AP) of the target's maximum health.

A Thousand Cuts is modified based on the target: * Against champions, it Heals Gwen for 70% of the post-mitigation damage dealt, capped at 12 - 30 (based on level) (+ 7% AP) per instance. * Against monsters, it deals a maximum of 2 magic damage (+ 3% AP).

Passive: Gwen's basic attacks generate a stack of Snippy on-hit for 6 seconds, refreshing on subsequent attacks and stacking up to 4 times.

Active: Gwen snips at least twice with her scissors in a cone in the target direction over the cast time, each time dealing magic damage to all enemies within the area, with the final snip dealing increased damage. The center of each snip instead deals true damage.

Gwen consumes all Snippy stacks to snip an additional time for each.

Snip Snip! deals 105% damage to monsters.

Active: Gwen summons the Hallowed Mist upon her current location, lasting for 4 seconds. While inside the mist, Gwen gains bonus armor and bonus magic resist and is untargetable to all enemies (except turrets) outside of the mist.

Bonus Resistances: 18 / 20 / 22 / 24 (+ 5% AP)

The mist will move to Gwen the first time she attempts to leave it, then ends early if she attempts to leave again.

Active: Gwen dashes to the target location, then empowers her basic attacks within the next 4 seconds to deal 10 magic damage (+ 18% AP) on-hit and gain attack speed and 100 Range.

Attack Speed: 20 / 40 / 60 / 80%

The first empowered attack to hit a champion or minion refunds 50% of Skip 'n Slash's cooldown.

''Skip 'n Slash resets Gwen's basic attack timer, and can be cast during any of her abilities, and vice versa.

  • AP ratio increased from 15% AP to 18%.

Patch 6.0c

Buff

Gwen struggles when she has to chase down fleeing foes. So, we’re enhancing the slow effect on her Ultimate while also slightly increasing some of her stats to give her a little more strength in her duels. We’re shear-tain this should help everyone’s favorite seamstress out.

Snip Snip!

  • Mana cost reduced from 40 to 35.

Hallowed Mist

  • Resistances increased from 14/16/18/20 to 18/20/22/24.

Needlework

  • Slow increased from 30/35/40% to 35/40/45%.

  • Base health increased from 660 to 690.
  • Health growth increased from 115 to 120.
  • Magic resistance growth increased from 1.6 to 2.

Buff

Gwen’s damage has been inconsistent, making her struggle in skirmishes in both Baron Lane and the Jungle. We’ve sharpened her scissors to make sure that she’s keeping up!

  • AP ratio per snip increased from 5% AP to 6%.
  • Final snip base damage increased from 60/80/100/120 to 70/90/110/130.

Patch 4.3a

Change

In the earlier stages of the game we’ve noticed that Gwen is too squishy, which makes it hard for her to lane and participate in early-game skirmishes. So, we’re buffing some of her base stats so that she can look to take more aggressive fights and cut her foes in half during the laning phase.

  • Damage against monsters reduced from 100% to 80%.

Hallowed Mist

  • Cooldown reduced from 20/18/16/14 seconds to 17/16/15/14.
  • Bonus resistances increased from 11/14/17/20 to 14/16/18/20.

Change

Running with scissors is overly rewarding in the current game, so we’re making the refund on Skip ‘n Slash more important in the early stages of the game along with a small nerf to Gwen’s early dueling power.

  • Cooldown increased from 12/11/10/9 seconds to 16.5/14/11.5/9.
  • Cooldown refund increased from 35/40/45/50% to 50% at all ranks.

Patch 3.4b

Nerf

Gwen in the jungle continues to put on a seamless performance, while she’s still a little weaker in the laning phase than we’d like. So, we’re making a few changes to help her have a more sew-cessful time in lane while also slightly slowing down her jungle clear.

A Thousand Cuts

  • Maximum base damage against monsters reduced from 4 to 2.
  • Maximum AP ratio against monsters reduced from 4% AP to 3%.

Skip 'n Slash

  • Cooldown refund increased from 20/30/40/50% to 35/40/45/50%.
  • Removed: No longer refunds the cooldown when attacking monsters.

Patch 3.4a

Change

Gwen’s laning performance hasn’t seamed too good and is under where we’d like it to be, so we’re giving her early game buffs to help smooth out her lane. However, her jungle performance has been better than other roles, so we’re bringing down her damage to monsters to even out her power between roles.

  • Maximum base damage against monsters reduced from 5 to 4.
  • Maximum AP ratio against monsters from 5% AP reduced to 4%.

Snip Snip!

  • Base damage per snip increased from 10/14/18/22 to 12/16/20/24.
  • Final snip base damage increased from 50/70/90/110 to 60/80/100/120.
