Leona was last buffed in Patch 6.1a (). Across 11 patches, Leona has received 10 buffs, 1 adjustment since release in Patch 2.1b.

Passive - Sunlight

Innate: Leona's abilities inflict a mark to enemies hit for 1.5 seconds. Damage dealt by other allied champions will consume the mark to deal 34 - 160 (based on level) bonus magic damage.

Active: Leona empowers her next basic attack within 6 seconds to have a 0.25 -second cast time, gain 50 bonus range, deal bonus magic damage and stun the target for 1 second.

Magic Damage: 15 / 50 / 85 / 120 (+ 30% AP)

Shield of Daybreak resets Leona's basic attack timer.

Active: Leona projects her sword in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies hit. If Zenith Blade hits at least one enemy champion, she will root the furthest champion for 0.5 seconds and dash to them.

Leona is unable to move or attack while Zenith Blade is in flight. She can cast any of her abilities during the dash.

Active: Leona casts down a solar flare upon the target location after 0.625 seconds, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies hit by 80% for 1.75 seconds. Targets hit in the center are stunned for the same duration.

Before our changes to items, runes, and boots, we thought Leona was "sun-stoppable" and able to survive teamfights and lock down opponents for her teammates. But lately, she has been unable to pose a threat to her foes, so we’re giving her some buffs to help her get into the fight.

Despite recent buffs, Leona is still falling behind compared to other supports in the Dragon Lane. To give her more opportunities to shine during teamfights, we’re buffing the stun duration on her ultimate, Solar Flare.

  • Disable duration increased from 1.5 seconds to 1.75.

Despite being a support most players can always lean on, Leona isn’t performing as well as we’d like in higher levels of play. For that rea-sun, we’re trying something new and increasing her threat and engage range, which should give players room for more skill expression.

Zenith Blade

  • Missile range increased from 800 to 850.

Solar Flare

  • Target range increased from 950 to 1050.
  • Cooldown reduced from 60/50/40 seconds to 55/45/35.

We wish all Leonas a very pleasant morning. She’s still climbing the buff mountain, and we’re targeting her tankiness and passive this time.

  • Base damage increased from 33 to 145 (based on level) to 34 to 160 (based on level).

Eclipse

  • Base resistances increased from 25/35/45/55 to 35/50/65/80.

Leona was still feeling under the weather, so we’re giving her a minor buff to help brighten her days in lane. This should help the Radiant Dawn reach her full potential.

Zenith Blade

  • Missile range increased from 750 to 800.

Leona should be shining in lane against ranged supports in the Duo Lane, but she’s getting overshadowed. These changes are intended to make her better at finding those fights and winning against squishies.

  • Base damage increased from 25 to 137 (based on level) to 33 to 145 (based on level).

Zenith Blade

  • Missile range increased from 700 to 750.

Leona’s not quite shining as a crowd controlling support tank yet, so we’re lowering the cooldowns of her core lockdown combo.

Shield of Daybreak

  • Cooldown reduced from 6 seconds to 5.

  • Cooldown reduced from 13/12/11/10 seconds to 12/10/8/6.
