Karma was last nerfed in Patch 6.2e (). Across 13 patches, Karma has received 6 buffs, 6 nerfs, 1 adjustment since release in Patch 3.1.

Active: Karma shoots a bolt in the target direction that explodes upon the first enemy hit, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and slowing them by 35% for 1.5 seconds.

Mantra Bonus: Inner Flame deals increased damage and fires a larger bolt that also explodes at maximum range. The explosion creates a field for 1.5 seconds that slows enemies within, which then ruptures to deal magic damage.

Active: Karma deals magic damage to the two nearest enemy champions and forms a tether to them for 1.75 seconds, during which they are revealed. If the tether is not broken by the end of its duration, the target is dealt additional magic damage, and revealed and rooted for a duration.

Mantra Bonus: Focused Resolve's root duration is increased. An additional tether will be formed between the two targets. If there is only one target, the new tether will attempt to spread to a nearby enemy champion.

Focused Resolve cannot be cast if there are no enemy champions nearby.

Active: Karma shields herself or the target allied champion for 3 seconds as well as granting 30% bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds.

Mantra Bonus: Inspire grants the target a larger shield and 60% bonus movement speed for 4 seconds. Every 0.25 seconds within the duration, the movement speed bonus will decay down to 20% and the shield's strength will decay down to 0. A ring is created around the primary target for the same duration. The nearest allied champion within the ring, or the first allied champion to enter the ring, will gain the same effects.

Active: Karma forms a ring of spirit energy at the target location that detonates after 1 second, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and slowing them by 35% for 1 second. Enemies within the outer ring will additionally be knocked inward.

When Transcendent Embrace is cast, Karma immediately generates maximum Mantra stacks.

Karma is a breeze in my hair on the weekend, Karma is a relaxing thought… and she’s also doing too much damage early game. We’re adjusting her burst damage so there will be options for outplays as she has to kite for more damage with a lower cooldown on her shield.

  • Mantra base damage reduced from 70/150/230/310 to 65/140/215/290.
  • Slow reduced from 50% at all ranks to 42.5/45/47.5/50%.

  • Cooldown reduced from 10/9.5/9/8.5 seconds to 10/9/8/7.

Karma has been having a hard time keeping up with other mages. We’re giving her some buffs across the board to help her be a more valuable and competitive choice in the mid lane.

  • Base damage increased from 150/250/350 to 170/280/390.
  • AP ratio increased from 60% AP to 80%.

When compared to other Mid Lane and support mages, Karma is struggling to keep up with them in both the damage and protection department. So, we’re adjusting her main source of damage, and buffing the amount of shields she can give her allies in the later stages of the game.

Despite several nerfs, Karma still remains one of the top performing supports for players who have taken the time to master her. We’re looking to bring down some of her powerful utility this time, so we’re increasing the cooldown on her tether to limit her from casting it twice per fight and reducing the movement speed from non-Mantra Inspire to reduce the amount of power Karma gets when investing Mantra into her other spells.

Patch 3.3Nerf

As players have mastered Karma, she’s shown to be slightly too dominant in the laning phase but more critically, far too strong at protecting her allies in the later stages of the game. So, we’re bringing down these two key aspects to keep Karma’s overall power focused more on her strengths of disruption, rather than shielding her teammates.

Patch 3.2Nerf

This enlightened Ionian continues to perform well above her fellow enchanters, particularly in how much damage and disruption she’s able to dish out during the mid-game, so we’re reducing some of that power.

Transcendent Embrace

  • Slow reduced from 50% to 35%.

Karma’s release balance was close to where we want her to be for the long-term, but she’s doing too much damage in the mid-game. We’re tipping the scales, and lowering Inner Flame’s Mantra bonus damage to make her less of a damage threat since she has so much other powerful utility in her kit.
