Passive - Garden of Thorns

Innate: Zyra's abilities spawn Thorn Spitters upon hitting certain targets. * Deadly Spines and Stranglethorns will spawn one under each enemy champion, large monster, and epic monster hit. * Grasping Roots will spawn one under the first enemy champion hit, otherwise at maximum range.

Active: Zyra summons a monstrous thicket at the target location that deals magic damage to enemies hit as it expands. After 2 seconds, the thicket snaps upward to knock up enemies within for 1 second.

Garden of Thorns hit by the thicket become enraged, restoring 50% of their current health, increasing their maximum health by 50%, gaining 25% increased size and refreshing their duration while the thicket expands. Additionally they gain 50% bonus attack speed.

Zyra’s plants have struggled to pack a punch, especially in the hands of skilled players, which doesn’t match our expectations for her identity as a “plant summoner.” To address this, we’re increasing the impact and presence of her plants within her overall kit. With proper plant usage, she should be able to create much more disruption for her enemies, rather than relying solely on casting spells safely from the backline.

Garden of Thorns

  • Thorn Spitter attack range reduced from 575 to 550.
  • Thorn Spitter health changed from 20 to 272 (based on level) to 30 to 240 (based on level).
  • Thorn Spitter health AP ratio increased from 25% AP to 50%.
  • Thorn Spitter base damage increased from 10 to 80 (based on level) to 15 to 127 (based on level).
  • Thorn Spitter damage AP ratio increased from 13% AP to 15%.
  • Thorn Spitter damage against monsters increased from 50% to 100%.
  • Thorn Spitter incoming damage reduction against enemy abilities increased from 60% to 65%.
  • New effect: Thorn Spitter gains 65% incoming damage reduction against non-epic monsters.
  • New effect: Thorn Spitter deals 17 to 45 (based on level) bonus damage against monsters.

Deadly Spines

Zyra’s plants have run rampant on the Rift. We've nerfed the duration of Zyra's crowd control abilities and adjusted the power of her plants. Let’s call it spring cleaning!

Garden of Thorns

  • Thorn Spitter duration reduced from 8 seconds to 6.
  • Thorn Spitter base health reduced from 40 to 628 (based on level) to 20 to 260 (based on level).
  • Thorn Spitter health AP ratio increased from 10% AP to 35%.

Grasping Roots

  • Root duration reduced from 1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds to 1/1.25/1.5/1.75.

Stranglethorns

  • Effect radius reduced from 500 to 430.
