Mordekaiser was last buffed in Patch 7.0d (). Across 6 patches, Mordekaiser has received 2 buffs, 2 nerfs, 2 adjustments since release in Patch 5.2b.

Passive - Darkness Rise

Innate: Mordekaiser gains 1% / 3% / 5% / 7% magic penetration and deals 30% AP bonus magic damage on-hit.

Innate: Morderkaiser generates a stack for each enemy champion or large monster hit by his basic abilities or damaging basic attacks, as well as any takedowns he scores. Stacks last for 5 seconds, refresh on subsequent hits, and stack up to 3 times. While at maximum stacks, he gains Darkness Rise.

Darkness Rise: Mordekaiser gains 3% / 6% / 9% bonus movement speed and deals 5 - 8.5 (based on level) (+ 25% AP) (+ 2% / 3% / 4% / 5% target's maximum health) magic damage every second to nearby enemies. Against monsters, the damage is capped at 24 - 100 (based on level) per second.

Passive: Mordekaiser stores 35% of the post-mitigation damage he deals and 7% of the pre-mitigation damage he takes, reduced by 75% for non-champion sources, as Potential Shield on his secondary resource bar, capped up to 30% maximum health. When Indestructible comes off cooldown, it will have a minimum amount of 5% maximum health.

Shield to Healing: 35%

Active: Mordekaiser consumes his Potential Shield to gain an equal amount as a shield lasting 4 seconds. Indestructible can be recast after 0.5 seconds while the shield is active.

Recast: Mordekaiser consumes the remaining shield, healing for a portion of the amount.

Active: Mordekaiser summons a claw in the target direction that grants sight of the area. After 0.5 seconds, it deals magic damage to enemies hit and pulls them 250 units, slowing them by 30% for 1 second.

Active: Mordekaiser aims his mace towards the target enemy champion, slowing them by 75% and revealing them over the cast time, and then banishing them with him to the Death Realm for 7 seconds. He also consumes the target's soul for 7 seconds, healing himself for 8% of their maximum health and reducing their current attack damage, ability power, attack speed, maximum health, armor, magic resist, and size by 8%, in addition to gaining them for himself. If the target dies inside the Death Realm, he keeps their partial stats until they respawn.

Only Mordekaiser and the target will enter the realm, both of them will be seen as spirits from the outside. Units between realms consider each other dead and negate any interactions between each other. Everything that occurs inside the Death Realm is hidden to units outside of it, and vice versa. All pets still inside the realm are killed at its end.

Death Realm is destroyed if one of the two affected champions leave the Death Realm because of having died or having it dispelled.

Mordekaiser has struggled to feel the impact of the bonus Attack Damage stolen by his ultimate. We’ve added a bonus AD ratio to his first ability, making the stolen stats more meaningful and giving him more item build options.

  • New effct: Now scales with 120% bonus AD.
Patch 6.0dChange

Mordekaiser tends to struggle during the laning phase, so we’ve strengthened the damage he can do in lane. However, we’ve also slightly toned down his terrifying Realm of Death to keep him more balanced overall.

Obliterate

  • Base damage increased from 70/95/120/145 to 80/110/140/170.
  • Base damage reduced from 4 to 90 (based on level) to 4 to 70 (based on level).
  • AP ratio increased from 60% AP to 70%.

Realm of Death

  • Cooldown increased from 100/85/70 seconds to 105/90/75.
Patch 6.0Buff

Stats

  • Base armor increased from 40 to 46.
  • Base health increased from 630 to 660.
  • Health growth increased from 112 to 120.
  • Magic resistance growth increased from 1.5 to 2.
Patch 5.3cNerf

Mordekaiser can easily oppress his enemies during laning phases, making it challenging for his enemies to counter back. We adjusted some of his stats so Mordekaiser needs to be more careful in lane.

Stats

  • Base health reduced from 660 to 630.

  • On-hit AP ratio reduced from 40% AP to 30%.

Death's Grasp

  • Base damage reduced from 70/90/110/130 to 60/80/100/120.

Realm of Death

  • Cooldown increased from 90/80/70 to 100/85/70.
Patch 5.3aNerf

Modekaiser greatly benefits from sustain which can make him difficult to counter in Lane. We’re moving some numbers around to give his enemies room for counterplay.

Darkness Rise

  • Base damage per second reduced from 5 to 12 (based on level) to 5 to 8.5 (based on level).
  • AP ratio per second reduced from 30% AP to 25%.

Indestructible

  • Cooldown increased from 11/10/9/8 seconds to 12/11/10/9.

Death's Grasp

  • Cooldown increased from 16/14/12/10 seconds to 17.5/15/12.5/10.
