Fimbulwinter Changes
Patch 26.1
changeGeneral
- Mana increased to 1000 from 860.
- Removed: No longer belongs to the Manaflow item group.
Patch 26.1
changeWe're bringing back the ability to stack multiple Tear items for those games that are really going long and you want to get max value out of every item slot. Also, we've been happy with the effects of increasing the flat mana on Seraph's Embrace a bit, so we're extending that to Muramana and Fimbulwinter.
Patch 25.4
changeWe've had Fimbulwinter on our radar for a while. It's been a very strong item for a while, but it's been consistently overlooked, especially since not all tanks need mana. However, we're at a point now where champions who are between two options (Fimbulwinter vs. Muramana or vs. Seraph's Embrace) should clearly always be choosing the tank option. We're looking to fix that this patch, so we're bringing its shield down a notch.
General
- Everlasting base shield reduced to 100 at all levels from 100 to 180 (based on level).
- Increased base shield reduced to 180 from 180 to 324 (based on level).
Patch 14.10
buffWe're giving Winter's Approach and Fimbulwinter some strict buffs and also playing up the mana build synergy. By doubling the value of the mana conversion for items like Frozen Heart and Rod of Ages, we hope there will be a subset of tanks and AP bruisers that are excited to try out high-mana builds. On average, the Awe change will be relatively neutral on most tanks unless they invest further into mana, but the 150 extra health is pure upside.
General
- Health increased to 550 from 400.
- Awe mana ratio changed to 15% bonus mana from 8% maximum mana.
Patch 14.3
nerfGeneral
- Now limits the user to 1 Manaflow item.
- No longer limits the user to 1 Mana Charge item.
Patch 14.1
buffGeneral
- Total Cost: 2600 → 2400 gold
- All other stats unchanged
Patch 13.10
nerfIn this patch we’re giving Fimbulwinter a quality of life buff by removing the mana requirement from the shield. The shield originally drained mana when it activated because we were worried that the item needed a limiter. After seeing the state of the item on live for a while, we believe it no longer needs that limiter to keep the item in check.
General
- Removed: Everlasting no longer consumes 3% current mana to activate the shield.
Patch 13.1
buffGeneral
- Bug Fix: Health increased to 400 from 350 to match Winter's Approach balance change.
Patch 12.10
nerfGeneral
- Base shield reduced to 100 to 180 (based on level) from 100 to 200 (based on level).
- Shield mana ratio reduced to 4.5% current mana from 5%.
Patch 12.7
nerfGeneral
- Health reduced to 350 from 400.
- Bug Fix: Fixed a bug where the base shield did not properly update with champion level.
Patch 11.23
newFimbulwinter added to League of Legends
General
- Automatically transforms from Winter's Approach.
- Stats: 400 health, 860 mana, 15 ability haste.
- Unique Passive - Awe: Grants bonus health equal to 8% maximum mana.
- Unique Passive - Everlasting: immobilize, or slow if you are melee, an enemy champion consumes 3% current mana to grant a 100 to 200 (based on level) (+ 5% current mana) shield for 3 seconds (8 second cooldown). The shield's strength is increased by 80% if there is more than one enemy champion nearby. Can only activate if you have greater than 20% maximum mana.
- Limited to 1 Mana Charge item.
