Randuin's Omen has been changed in 9 patches since release in Patch 2.2. 3 buffs, 6 adjustments. Most recently adjusted in Patch 6.3.
Resilience [New]:
New Unique Passive - Resilience:
- Reduce incoming damage from critical strikes by 20%.
Unique Passive - Countercurrent
- New Passive: Being critically struck by physical damage will generate a stack for 5 seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits and stacking up to 4 times. Each stack grants 5% bonus move speed and 5% Slow resist.
- Old Passive: Being critically struck by physical damage will generate a stack for 5 seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits and stacking up to 4 times. Each stack reduces incoming damage from critical strikes by 5%; up to 20% reduction at maximum stacks, at which you also gain 20% bonus move speed and slow resist equal to 20% (+ 0.5% per 100 bonus health).
General
- Armor increased from 65 to 75.
Unique passive - Countercurrent
- Base slow resist reduced from 40% to 20%.
- Slow resist health ratio reduced from 1% per 100 bonus health to 0.5%.
Unique passive - Cold Steel
- Removed.
Unique passive - Determination
- Removed.
New Unique passive - Countercurrent
- Being critically struck by physical damage will generate a stack for 5 seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits and stacking up to 4 times. Each stack reduces incoming damage from critical strikes by 5%; up to 20% reduction at maximum stacks, at which you also gain 20% bonus move speed and slow resist equal to 40% (+ 1% per 100 bonus health).
Unique Passive - Determination
- New effect: Once the stacks expire, you heal equal to half of the amount.
We’ve adjusted some numbers and its cost to make it a more efficient pickup when you’re facing a crit heavy enemy team.
General
- Total cost reduced from 2900 gold to 2800 gold.
- Combine cost reduced from 850 gold to 750 gold.
- Armor increased from 60 to 65.
Unique passive - Determination
- Damage converted to Determination increased from Melee 20% / Ranged 14% to Melee 25% / Ranged 18%.
Randuin’s Omen is a defensive item that's dedicated to reducing critical damage. We want to further amplify some of its unique strengths and increase its price.
General
- Total cost increased from g|2800|
- Combine cost increased from g|750|
- Armor increased from 55 to 60.
Unique passive - Determination
- Damage converted to Determination increased from Melee 16% / Ranged 10% to Melee 20% / Ranged 14%.
Randuin’s Omen is not strong enough in its current state to compete with the other armor items, even when its anti-crit passive should be strong. So, to help it compete with the other options, we’re looking to increase the power of the anti-crit it has.
Unique passive - Determination
- Damage converted to Determination increased from Melee 12% / Ranged 8% to Melee 16% / Ranged 10%.
Need more anti-crit in your life? How about an anti-crit item that heals back life? While the numbers on the new Determination passive may seem underwhelming compared to its previous iteration, the keyword here is “pre-mitigation”. In practice, tanks will fare better against critical damage–as long as they’re on the offensive. Armed with the new Randuin’s Omen, you are filled with Determination.*

New Unique passive - Determination:
- Being critically struck will generate Melee 12% / Ranged 8% of pre-mitigation damage taken as stacks of Determination for 5 seconds, which refreshes on subsequent hits and stacks up to 500 times. Attacking a champion will consume all Determination to heal for the same amount.
