UNIQUE Passive - Spellblade: After using an ability, your next basic attack within 10 seconds deals bonus physical damage on-hit equal to 100% base AD (+ 25% bonus armor), and the same damage to surrounding enemies within 180 range. It also creates a 180 (+ 55% bonus armor) radius frost field under them for 2 seconds, which slows enemies within by 30%. The damage is reduced by 50% against structures. (1.5 (post effect))

Buff

Iceborn Gauntlet has been underperforming, even on the champions it's designed for. To make it a more appealing first major purchase in lane, we're increasing its stat efficiency and improving the value it provides early in the game.

Base stats

Patch 3.2a

Change

With the release of some of the new items, Iceborn Gauntlet hasn’t been picked up as much as it used to. We want to adjust this item to bring it more in line with some of the other choices, so we’re updating Iceborn’s stat profile while allowing its Spellblade passive to scale with bonus armor.

New Recipe:

  • Sheen + Glacial Shroud + Kindlegem = 3100 gold.
  • Old Recipe: Sheen + Glacial Shroud + 600 gold = 2700 gold.
  • Health increased from 0 to 250.
  • Mana reduced from 450 to 250.

Unique Passive - Spellblade

  • New Effect: Deals physical damage equal to 25% bonus armor.

General

  • Total cost unchanged at 2700 gold, see notes on Sheen.
  • Combine cost increased from 600 gold to 800 gold.

  • No longer grants 20% cooldown reduction.
