Bard was last buffed in Patch 7.1e (). Across 5 patches, Bard has received 1 buff, 2 nerfs, 2 adjustments since release in Patch 6.2d.

Traveler's CallWR
Passive - Traveler's Call

Bard attracts and collects Chimes, granting him XP, Mana, and out-of-combat Move Speed. Every collected Chime buffs Bard’s Meeps. Bard summons Meeps regularly, assisting with his basic attacks and dealing extra magic damage. When Bard has collected enough Chimes, his meeps will also deal damage in an area and slow enemies hit.

Cosmic BindingWR
Ability 1 - Cosmic Binding

Bard fires a missile which will damage and slow the first enemy struck, and continue onward. If it strikes a wall, it will stun the initial target; if it strikes another enemy, it will stun them both.

Caretaker's ShrineWR
Ability 2 - Caretaker's Shrine

Bard conjures a Health shrine at a target location, granting the first ally champion to enter Move Speed, AP, and Health. The shrine continues growing for a short while, powering up its healing value.

Magical JourneyWR
Ability 3 - Magical Journey

Bard opens a portal in nearby terrain. Ally and enemy champions alike can take a one-way trip through that terrain by moving into the portal.

Tempered FateWR
Ability 4 - Tempered Fate

Bard sends spirit energy arcing to a location, putting all champions, minions, monsters, and turrets hit into stasis for a brief time, as well as stunning them. Enemies hit are revealed for the duration.

Bard’s chimes aren’t quite hitting the right notes right now, especially around his mid-game spike. He’s falling behind where he should be making his biggest impact, so we’re speeding up the charge time on his second ability at higher ranks and lowering the cooldown on his fourth ability, helping him keep the tempo and better support his team when it matters most.

Caretaker's Shrine

  • Recharge time reduced from 15 seconds to 15/14.5/14/13.5.

Tempered Fate

  • Cooldown reduced from 80/70/60 seconds to 75/65/55.
Patch 7.1Change

In Patch 7.0c, we made both numerical and mechanical adjustments to Bard. However, changes to his ultimate ability were not clearly communicated in the patch notes. Thank you to everyone who shared this with us, and we want to apologize for the oversight. We’re sharing the details from the changes in these notes.

Bard’s early-game pressure was overly strong. His high damage and long basic attack range allowed him to safely harass and zone his foes. So, we’re making some adjustments to ensure his enemies have counterplay opportunities.

Stats

  • Attack range reduced from 550 to 500.

Cosmic Binding

  • Base damage reduced from 90/140/190/240 to 80/130/180/230.
  • Missile speed reduced.
  • Missile width reduced.
