Symbiotic Soles

Removed from the game

The functionality of Symbiotic Soles was incorporated into the mid lane lane role quest so we chose to remove the item now that it’s a reward for the mid-lane role. While this change does take a boots option away for other roles we want the power associated with this item to reside with the mid lane.

Symbiotic Soles are a solid option for supports, which we’re very happy about, but they’re too game-warping for laners, as the empowered Recall lets them quickly reset every few waves, removing all sense of attrition. So we’re making some adjustments to retain their power for roaming around the map but make them worse when spamming Recall over and over.

Symbiotic Soles are the worst-performing boots in the game for most players, so they're deserving of a buff. We're being a bit cautious here, only giving 5 move speed to the unupgraded version, but we'll keep an eye out to see if they're deserving of more love in the future.

We’re specifically not nerfing Symbiotic Soles as they’re a little weak relative to other boot options. A few champions may find themselves moving over as a result of the other nerfs here.

Symbiotic Soles added to League of Legends

This is a new boot meant to slightly replace Boots of Mobility as a tempo-oriented purchase. It's meant to help get back on the map faster and quickly get out of bad situations, while requiring an appropriate amount of time before granting its roaming-focused movement speed.
