Patch 13.10
changeReducing the overall cost of Chemtech Putrifier so that it’s more affordable as an item within the overall support itemization pool. We’re happy with the item not being a “must purchase”, but in its current state it’s just a tad weak.
General
- Total cost reduced to 2100 gold from 2300 gold.
- Combine cost reduced to 500 gold from 700 gold.
- Ability power reduced to 35 from 40.
- Base mana regeneration reduced to 75% from 100%
- Heal and shield power increased to 10% from 8%.

Unique Passive - Puffcap Toxin
- New Effect: Dealing damage to enemy champions inflicts them with 40% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds.
- Old Effect: Dealing magic damage to enemy champions inflicts them with 25% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds. Heal or shield allied champions (excluding yourself) empowers your and their next instance of damage against enemy champions within 5 seconds to apply 40% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds.

Patch 11.8
changeWe set out to make Chemtech Putrifier a more sought after choice for supports by substantially broadening its use cases. First and foremost, we’re making it so you have to target an ally to receive the benefits yourself (much like Ardent Censer and Staff of Flowing Water). The ability to apply it to oneself didn't seem to have significant power implications, but it did have odd interactions (like with Ravenous Hunter) that were not intended. In addition, we’re giving the item a slight buff because it's still a bit niche and underperforms compared to other options.
General
- Ability power increased to 55 from 50.
- Removed: The user no longer gains the buff when healing or shielding themselves.
- New Effect: The user now also gains the buff when healing or shielding an ally (other than themselves).
- New Effect: Is now called out in chat to notify when the item is purchased.

Unique Passive - Puffcap Toxin
- New Effect: Dealing magic damage to enemy champions inflicts them with 40% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds. Healing or shielding allied champions will empower their next instance of damage against enemy champions within 5 seconds to apply 60% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds.
- Old Effect: Dealing magic damage to enemy champions inflicts them with 40% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds. Immobilize enemy champions also inflicts them with 60% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds.

- Unique Passive - Puffcap Toxin: Dealing magic damage to enemy champions inflicts them with 40% Grievous Wounds for 2 seconds. immobilize champions applies 60% Grievous Wounds instead.
- Limited to 1 Chemtech Putrifier.
