Experimental Hexplate Changes
Patch 26.11
nerfWe like a world where Hexplate is satisfying across a spread of archetypes, and serves as a springboard to dive into interesting itemization tradeoffs. However, right now the item makes League less approachable for top laners by letting Vayne and Varus maintain a large proportion of their damage while being a good bit harder to kill. This change should better align expectations opponents have around ranged users building Hexplate, while still presenting as a worthy Experimental choice.
General
- Overdrive bonus attack speed for ranged champions reduced to 35% from 50%.
- Overdrive bonus movement speed for ranged champions reduced to 14% from 20%.
Patch 25.16
buffExperimental Hexplate has been a very niche item hard-bound to specific champions (hello Nocturne). We’d like to open it up to more users, so we’re giving it some strong buffs to its empowered state.
General
- Overdrive attack speed increased to 50% from 30%.
- Overdrive movement speed increased to 20% from 15%.
Patch 14.19
changeGeneral
- New Recipe: Tunneler + Phage + Dagger + 500 gold = 3000 gold.
- Old Recipe: Tunneler + Hearthbound Axe + 550 gold = 3000 gold.
- Health increased to 450 from 300.
- Attack damage reduced to 40 from 55.
- Attack speed reduced to 20% from 25%.
Patch 14.10
buffGeneral
- Combine cost reduced to 550 gold from 700 gold.
- Total cost unchanged.
Patch 14.2
changeHexplate builds out of Noonquiver without actually having any on-hit damage, so we’re moving it to build out of Hearthbound Axe instead to make it more intuitive for players. This also balances out Hearthbound/Noonquiver/Zeal to build into three legendaries each (here in League we love our rule of three... sorry Jhin).
General
- New Recipe: Tunneler + Hearthbound Axe + 700 gold = 3000 gold.
- Old Recipe: Tunneler + Noonquiver + 600 gold = 3000 gold.
- Attack speed increased to 25% from 20%.
- Overdrive attack speed reduced to 30% from 35%.
- T.U.R.B.O. attack speed increased to 35% from 30%.
- Bug Fix: No longer is incorrectly displayed in the armor penetration section of the shop.
- Bug Fix: No longer grants more ultimate haste than intended for some champions.
- Bug Fix: Item icon for T.U.R.B.O. is now properly displayed even if the passive is on cooldown.
