Locket Enchant has been changed in 6 patches since release in Patch 2.1. 2 buffs, 2 nerfs, 2 adjustments. Most recently nerfed in Patch 6.0d.
With the addition of Forbidden Idol, Locket has been providing too much shielding in the mid-to-late game. So, we’re adjusting its shielding power.
Unique active - Locket
- Base shield reduced from 60 to 390 (based on level) to 60 to 330 (based on level).

- Shield reduced from 70 to 420 (based on level) to 60 to 390 (based on level).
- New effect: Shield type changed from magic to normal.
Locket hasn’t felt as rewarding when compared to other enchants, even when you’re facing multiple magic damage threats where it should excel. So, we’re lowering its cost to help it compete with the other enchant options.
General
- Upgrade cost reduced from 800 gold to 500 gold.
For a while now, Locket has been significantly more powerful compared to other enchants, even when it's not being used optimally. Its ability to provide hundreds or even thousands of extra health in shield value during a teamfight made it outperform other enchants by a mile, even when they were getting maximum value. We’re looking to make Locket less applicable to every situation, so it's being changed into a magic damage shield to preserve its primary identity as an anti-AoE tool while also limiting its usage as a powerful button to press at any point during a point.
